What the Service Includes
The Offsite Backup Service is delivered on Defended Solutions-owned UK infrastructure and managed end to end by the Defended Solutions team. The following capabilities are included as standard across all storage tiers.
UK Sovereign Infrastructure
All backup storage hosted exclusively on Defended Solutions-owned UK systems, with no dependency on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Geographic Resilience
Multi-location architecture across UK data centres ensures high availability and protects against site-level failure, with no single point of failure.
AES-256 Encryption
All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. Data is never stored or processed unencrypted.
Incremental Backup Scheduling
Initial seed ingestion followed by incremental change-based backups, minimising bandwidth consumption and ensuring efficient ongoing protection.
Configurable Retention Policies
Retention schedules configured per data set during onboarding, with standard options of 30-day, 90-day, and 12-month rolling retention, or custom arrangements.
Managed Data Restoration
Up to two full restoration events per calendar month included as standard, with recovery time objectives agreed and documented during onboarding.

Service Pricing
The Offsite Backup Service is priced on a consumption basis, with a fixed monthly charge covering the first 10 TB of storage and a per-TB rate applied to any volume above that threshold.
All pricing is based on a 12-month minimum commitment, with the service rolling monthly thereafter.
The indicative pricing below illustrates how monthly costs progress as storage grows. Actual pricing is confirmed following completion of a needs analysis.

Getting Started
Onboarding is managed by a dedicated Defended Solutions engineer and is designed to bring the service into production in a structured and verified manner. Prior to service activation, Defended Solutions conducts a half-day needs analysis to confirm data volumes, classification, retention requirements, recovery objectives, and network connectivity.
